Salt Marsh Exploration at Flax Pond!
Contact us to sign up for a biologist guided hike to the ocean inlet at Flax Pond! We will look for ocean critters and explore this unique estuary site. Each tour's length and date is custom based on your schedule/needs.
Our max group size is 12 hikers, and minimum age is 8 years old. The hike great for families and kids but does require participants to be comfortable walking over uneven terrain and will involve getting wet and potentially muddy.
After registering, we will need some other details to obtain the necessary park permits. For weekend hikes, we will need to schedule and get your permit details by the Friday before.
What to wear/bring:
Wear clothes and shoes that you can get wet and muddy in! Also bring a change of clothes/shoes for the car ride back. Long sleeves and long pants with rain boots work best for comfort and tick prevention. Flip flops are not allowed, shoes need to be closed toed and stay on the ankle.
Also recommended is bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and a bag to store any wet/muddy clothes.
In the case of poor or dangerous weather, we will contact you and provide a full refund.

"My wife and I participated in the Daeira conservation experience. Thoroughly enjoyed and learned a thing or two about salt march ecosystem and horse shoe crab biology and behavior. A unique way to spend a night. Try it for yourself!!!"
